Trustap, a Dublin-headquartered payments and transaction protection platform serving online marketplaces and ecommerce operators globally, has closed a $10m funding round to launch Trustap Index, a product designed to make marketplace listings fully transactable by AI agents.

The round was led by Aperture Capital, with TX Ventures and a number of existing investors also participating. Proceeds will support continued development of Trustap's marketplace and ecommerce platform, headcount growth, and the rollout of Trustap Index, which is scheduled to launch later in 2026.

Trustap Index is built to address a structural gap in how AI shopping agents interact with the web. While consumers are increasingly delegating purchasing tasks to conversational AI models capable of searching across platforms, comparing prices and completing transactions, most marketplace listings currently lack the machine-readable structure those agents require.

The new product aims to close that gap by transforming fragmented inventory data into consolidated, structured information that AI agents can act on, covering everything from mainstream product searches across major retailers to rare or second-hand items listed by individual sellers.

Every transaction facilitated through Trustap Index remains subject to human confirmation before funds are released, with payments routed through Trustap's existing secure infrastructure. The platform also covers product discovery, negotiation and payment handling on the buyer's behalf.

Trustap's core offering is a payments and transaction protection platform providing escrow-style, milestone-based transactions, identity verification, and dispute resolution for buyers and sellers on online marketplaces and peer-to-peer platforms.

Trustap founder and CEO Conor Lyden said, 'We've spent years building the transaction platform that make ecommerce, peer-to-peer and marketplace platforms safe, more profitable, and trustworthy for buyers and sellers. Trustap Index is the natural next step in that journey. As AI agents become the primary way people discover and purchase goods, the question becomes: who do those agents trust to handle the transaction?

'Our answer is Trustap. This funding gives us the runway to ensure that when an AI agent shops anywhere on the internet, it can find the listing, verify the seller, and complete the payment securely through infrastructure it can rely on. That is the long-term vision: Trustap as the trusted payment layer for all online commerce, agentic and human alike.'

Aperture Capital CEO Ben Robinson said, 'The rise of agentic commerce is happening faster than many people realise. We believe that Trustap, which already works with hundreds of marketplaces providing secure end-to-end transaction management, is uniquely positioned to orchestrate agentic transactions. Trustap acts as a single, trusted aggregation point that indexes and transforms fragmented inventory data into consolidated machine-readable information.'
